LAYLA GARRIDO
STORYTELLER
Born in Bogotá, and raised between Barranquilla and Yopal, Colombia, Layla grew up in an engineering camp surrounded by nothing else but machinery and asphalt. Her favorite hobby was to chase frogs and trap them in the trunk of her dad’s pickup truck.
Teaming up with her mom, she was always creating amazing stories to share with all the adults in the camp, because she was the only child in that dusty environment.
Once she turned 4 years old, she learned to read and quickly turned that into her main skill to tell stories to her brother and cousins, making them feel the reality and bring it to the stage, either way through live acting or singing performances during the holiday season, at the family farm.
Since then, she never stopped telling stories to her little sister, the younger cousins and after that, her own kids who recall every day all the amazing bedtime stories about cowboys, horses, princes, witches, and more.
